After
our performance on Friday night, I was offered a Sunday night
time slot cancellation to orchestrate another musical experiment.
Now Introducing...
The Electro-Music Sonic Orchestra v 1.0
(L-R) Ge Wang, Rebecca Fiebrink, Tim Lofgren, Lynn Bechtold,
Brian Dunn, Kevin Kissinger
|
 |
The
piece was started by building an abstract ambient rhythm with
glitch sounds and white noise. Concert violinist, Lynn
Bechtold led with violin. |
 |
As
the piece developed, I played the low end registers with the
Cosmotron emulating a cello while Lynn Bechtold played electric
violin and Rebecca Fiebrink played her flute through "the
Mungenator" a custom program written by Ge
Wang the day of the performance. |
 |
Kevin
Kissinger played the theremin. During the piece he danced
in and out of the violin and flute while often copying the their
notes to the very key. He is amazing. |
 |
The
video mix was done by members of Project
Ruori.

The music moved from subtle glitched avant garde into a melancholy
of flowing synthetic orchestral melodies. |

Brian
Dunn held down lead laptop and dropped in highly effected
samples of Thax Douglas' poetry I recorded along with a short
abstract IDM style beat effecting all of the above with Ableton
Live. |
